LongQt
LongQt is an accessible, powerful and user-friendly modeling program for heart cells and heart cell tissues. It was created to bridge the gap between the people that can benefit from modeling to the ones that know how to setup and run the models. Modeling gives people images of the problem they are trying to solve which can be a powerful tool to enable them to reason about it and ultimately solve it. Additionally, modeling allows us to codify our theories to test them and make predictions which are useful for the development of our understanding. Unfortunately, while modeling stands to benefit many people, oftentimes it is difficult to setup and use, blocking people off from any potential gains. For students LongQt is a way to play around with the concepts of how a heart functions. This is why LongQt was created. For researchers LongQt is a way to run experiments that would be difficult or impossible to run in the lab.
